Patriot Guard Mission Complete for
Fallen Hero US Army SGT Erik N. May
Casualty of War - Operation Enduring Freedom

Location:  Valley Center and Wichita, KS

     Thank you to everyone who attended the mission to honor Sgt. Erik May in Valley Center and Wichita, KS.   Everyone did an outstanding job.  We thank all Patriot Guard members for your continued commitment and dedication to stand guard for our Fallen Heroes. We also thank Valley Center citizens and members of all law enforcement agencies who gave Erik a Hero's welcome-home escort and final sendoff.

     Sgt. May's family and friends, and all his fellow soldiers both stateside and in Afghanistan extend their appreciation and thanks to everyone who were present, as well as to those who could not participate but offered their prayers.

  Sgt Erik May    United States Army SGT Erik N. May, 26, from Fredonia, Kansas, died July 14 in Ghazni province, Afghanistan.
   Sgt. May was an infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division which is currently deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  This was his second combat deployment with the 'Dragon' Brigade.  He deployed to Iraq with the brigade headquarters in 2009.
   Sgt. May joined the Army in September 2007.  He was assigned to Fort Riley in February 2009.
     Sgt. May's family has invited the Patriot Guard to escort him home and attend his funeral service at 10 am Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Valley Center Christian Church.

   The Patriot Guard extends sincere sympathy to Sgt. May's family, friends, and fellow soldiers.
