Fire
Chief Stan Engdahl, 78 years old, died Monday 12
November 2007 after fighting a house fire in
Marquette. The city of Marquette and the state of
Kansas have lost a legend and a hero. Chief Engdahl
had served on the Marquette Volunteer Fire
Department since 1955 and had been Fire Chief since
1971. Stan was a motorcycle racing enthusiast,
winning 9 state championships, and 5 national
championships. He also was curator of the Kansas
Motorcycle Museum in Marquette since 2003. Stan was
a Corporal in the US Army during the Korea War from
1952 to 1954. He is survived by his wife LaVona
Engdahl.

for family arrival and friends.

Graveside service will
follow at the Lutheran Cemetery west of town.
At Ride Briefing the
avenue of flags at cemetery will be explain.
