National Guard SPC. John E. Wood 37 years old of Humboldt, KS.
was killed in action 07 October 2006 in Baghdad, Iraq when an
improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near his vehicle
while his unit was conducting combat operations. SPC.
John Wood was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was
assigned to the 891st Engineer Battalion, Garnett, Kansas. John
fought and died to protect our families and our freedom.
