Mr. Hansen,

I received a letter and phone card from the Kansas American Legion
Riders 136 the other day. I don't have an email address for the group
but I wanted to pass on my gratitude. I really appreciate the time
and and the thought. It's good to know that despite all the negative
press there are still those that understand and appreciate what's
going on out here. I included a picture of me with a kid from the
Balkh province in northern Afghanistan. We've made a lot of progress with schools and hospitals in the region and the people are actually very friendly toward us. I think these kinds of pictures are what Americans need to see, not burning humvees, because situations like this are really the rule, not the exception.
Please pass on my gratitude to everyone in the AL Riders group.
